waiver wire wednesday goalie edition

NHL Fantasy Week 4 : Waiver Wire Wednesday – Goalie Edition.

Goaltending can make or break a fantasy week, and the position changes fast. These five goalies are worth a look, from strong win producers to a cheap sleeper most managers haven’t noticed yet.

1. Pyotr Kochetkov | G | Carolina Hurricanes | 67% Rostered

6 GS | 6 W | 1.98 GAA | .899 SV%

Kochetkov is a perfect 6-0, and in fantasy, wins pay the bills. His .899 save percentage won’t impress anyone, but Carolina’s tight defensive game keeps shots down and his GAA under 2.00. As long as the Hurricanes keep winning in front of him, he’ll keep collecting W’s. If he’s still on your wire, he’s the top add here.

2. Devon Levi | G | Edmonton Oilers | 59% Rostered

6 GS | 5 W | 2.83 GAA | .898 SV%

Levi has five wins in six starts, and the run support in Edmonton gives any goalie a real chance at wins every night. His ratios are the weakest of this group, so you’ll be trading some GAA and save percentage for victories. In leagues that weight wins heavily, that’s a trade worth making.

3. Jacob Fowler | G | Montreal Canadiens | 54% Rostered

4 GS | 3 W | 2.16 GAA | .900 SV%

Fowler has gotten off to a solid start, with three wins in four starts and a strong 2.16 GAA. The sample is still small, but the young netminder has given Montreal steady goaltending so far. He offers both upside and solid ratios, and he’s worth adding before his rostered number climbs.

4. Alex Nedeljkovic | G | San Jose Sharks | 11% Rostered

4 GS | 3 W | 2.37 GAA | .917 SV%

This is the sleeper of the group. Nedeljkovic has three wins in four starts and a .917 save percentage, the second best on this list, yet only 11% of managers roster him. San Jose won’t hand him wins every night, but he’s playing well enough to help your ratios. He’s a smart streaming option and a nearly free add in deeper leagues.

5. Dylan Garand | G | New York Rangers | 71% Rostered

6 GS | 4 W | 1.85 GAA | .929 SV%

Garand has the best numbers of anyone here, with a 1.85 GAA and a .929 save percentage. He’s winning games and helping your ratios at the same time, which is exactly what you want from a fantasy goalie. At 71% rostered, he probably won’t be on your wire much longer. If he’s there, grab him now.

Bottom line: Garand and Kochetkov are the priority adds. Garand gives you elite ratios, while Kochetkov keeps piling up wins. Fowler and Levi are solid secondary options, and Nedeljkovic is the cheap sleeper worth a stream.
